The Hennessey Venom GT is at present the number 2 fastest car in the world, it’s one hot-looking, road-hugging, pulse-raising machine. The car is sexy, and can go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. We’re talking breathtaking acceleration. It’s all over car magazines, but rarely seen in person. John Hennessy’s name is synonymous with high performance. It’s definitely not a car to look to for fuel economy, but it moves with amazing speed even in sixth gear. It has a mid-engine and was designed for maximum power-to-weight ratio. It isn’t meant to do anything but hustle. That being said, it still looks amazing.
The car is basically a Lotus Elise with adaptations. There are no aspects of this car that are not high performance, but the brakes, wheels and tires still make a car that is less than 2700 pounds. The motor is a close match to the Corvette ZR-1, LS9. It is a Chevrolet V8 engine to produce 1200 horsepower on regular-grade pump gas. The Hennessey Venom GT specs are pretty amazing overall. It is a very professionally made car with great fittings and fixtures. The Hennessey Venom GT has exceptionally manufactured heat exchange, and all body panels are carbon fiber. The transmission is essentially the same gear box as a twin-turbo Ford GT.
Even If you have been saving your pennies, you may not necessarily be ready to afford the $950,000 Hennessey Venom GT price tag. But for millionaires and car aficionados alike, it is one of the fastest cars in the world, with a top speed that matches Dauer Lemans, the Koenigsegg CCX, the Bugatti Veyron and Veyron Supersport, Koenigsegg Agera, Devon GTX, and Mosler MT900 and the Ultimate Aero. The Hennessey Venom GT top speed has been clocked at 260 mph. Although cars are getting faster all the time, you could take this one to the nearest drag race and make almost every car eat dust. As one of the fastest production cars in the world, running on regular motor fuel, it is something of an engineering masterpiece.
What is the worlds fastest car? Unfortunately it’s not the Hennessey Venom GT, but the fastest production car in the world (Bugatti Veyron) only goes around 267 mph which is only 7 mph faster than the venom. If you love fast cars, then the Venom GT gives you plenty to love, and it truly looks appealing enough to make even your best friend’s grandmother look twice. For some great pictures of this fine looking machine you can visit the official Hennessey Venom GT website. Top Gear magazine stated that “I’ve driven every supercar over the past 25 years and nothing accelerates like a Venom GT.”
Do you think Bugatti engineers might be paying some attention? For an American car to knock the socks off so many foreign competitors, it makes you wonder why American car manufacturers can’t do the same for the every-day sedan that most American’s drive. Perhaps we should fire the CEOs of GM and Ford and let the mechanics and engineers take over. I’m sure all Americans and foreigners alike could use a little more Hennessey Venom GT in their driving experience.

I prefer this car to the Veyron, I think it has far more soul. It ain’t all about specs.
While I can’t see myself ever trying to go 260 m.p.h., I still sigh over this car as it is simply one gorgeous piece of high class machinery. I’m still amazed that the concept and design came out of a little one-horse town in Texas.
It’s beautiful. I prefer it too Kieth. I wonder if naming it after alcohol has gotten people’s attention or not. Yeah Sally-usually Texas goes for big, not little.
I just love that color. I’ve always dreamed to have a yellow car, and with that power and muscle, it’s the perfect combination for me. Gotta get that venom into my system!
Wow! This car may be only the 2nd-fastest car in the world, but it’s downright poisonous in its looks. It’s hard to believe this toy-like car is a real mean driving machine. You can park this one in my driveway any day of the week. I won’t quibble over the paint color.
The ‘venom’ in the name says enough for me. 0-60 in less than three seconds? Unbelievable. If I had to pick a color, I’d go for the silver over the yellow though. Did you notice in the video outtakes that at some points the camera couldn’t follow it fast enough? Now that’s a fast car.
This car has been coming for years and still there’s nothing concrete or ratification. If you think you can compare the technical engineering in this to the veyron then your stone mad. I may never be able to afford either of these cars but to say that the venom ( a car that is an is an amalgamation of several other cars with large turbo modifications ) is technically superior to the veyron then you are seriously delusional. Even Joe Leno who I think is as dull as dishwater said it while doing an interview on the venom. He said every part of the bugatti is designed to go 250+ and be stable from the wing mirrors to the window wipers. The window wipers from the venom are from a mid range ford. It may go that fast but your a brave man to do so.
It just looks like a lotus to me.
This super fast car reminds me of what Mustangs were to 12-year-old boys back in the day. That’s as close to the kind of drooling guys today can do over the Hennessey Venom GT fast car.
